I have a large collection of Brazilian music and still
can't remember which Brazilian artist put Portuguese lyrics to an American tune
called ALL of ME. Do you know which artist and whose album I can search? A.

Re: song - Message sent by Gigi on Mar 7, 2010 Q.
I am
looking for a song, sung by a Brazilian man, his name is Patricio (or Patrizzio)
I don’t know the correct spelling. The title of the song is something like
“Cuidar de voce para mim”. I live in Portugal, but I only speak English, not
Portuguese. This song is played on the radio, but nobody in this country can
tell me where to buy the cd! I have looked on the internet, and cannot find it. A. I don't know this singer nor this song. I suggest that you go to CD shop and ask them again. If the song is played on the radio, maybe they know it. Good luck!

Re: lyrics - Message sent by Gail Yvon on Feb 12, 2009 Q.
I
think you have answered part of my question about lyrics for Jobim
songs.....just saw your Girl from Ipanema and the translation of Vinicius' lyric
is not the same as Norman Gimbel's award-winning English version. I'm a novice
vocalist learning some Latin songs for my second CD next Spring. As I learn the
English versions, I wondered if they were original or translations of the
Portuguese. Can you tell me if the English lyrics are usually new versions of
such songs as Meditation, Corcovado, One-Note Samba, and How Insensitive for
example and not
translations? A. I really don't know if the English lyrics are usually new versions like The Girl from Ipanema. You have to compare the original and the translation so you know if the lyrics are new versions.
Re: love song - Message sent by Robert on Jan 18, 2009 Q.

Re: Lisa Ono's "Saliane"" - Message sent by Alexandra (Switzerland) on Oct 31, 2008 Q.
I
really fall in love with Brazilian bossa nova, so fall in love with it that I
plan to learn Brazilian Portuguese in near future. Lisa Ono's
"Saliane" is the favorite song of my husband and I. But I cannot find
the lyrics of this song on the Internet. Could you help us write down the
lyrics? If not, could you suggest me a Brazilian Portuguese forum where I can
ask for help? You could listen to this song here: A. I suggest that you ask a Brazilian friend to help you or even better, you can contact Lisa Ono at http://www.onolisa.com/ Good luck!
Re: "A Banda" by Chico Buarque - Message sent by Timothy (England) on Sept 12, 2008 M. Thank you for posting the lyrics of this song. The tune had been at the back of my mind for many years but I didn't know the title, the artist or the writer. I thought it might be Herb Alpert. Eventually I found it on You Tube, then I came across a video of Chico Buarque singing it at a concert in Brasil so I found out all about him and his life, and the song and what it meant.

Re: Song lyrics - Messages sent by Mario (Leon Guanajuato, Mexico) on March 14 + April 1, 2007
Q.
I found your page when I was searching for information
about brazilian singers because there’s a song in portuguese language that I
like but I could not find the accurate information since I really don’t know
the name of the singer and the title of the song but I just remember a little of
a phrase of the said song which it goes like this: "livre, livre, livre
para amor, quero ser asi, quero ser asi". I would be thankful if you
could give me information that could lead me to that song.
Thank you, Mario
M.
I just want to write you to tell you
thank you very much for the information that you sent me about the song"
Uma Nova Mulher" by Simone. I already downloaded it through
back to top or back to contents
